Farming Help

Farming Help is the umbrella name for three charities working together, in different ways, to provide complementary forms of support for the farming community. The three charities are RABI, Farm Crisis Network and the Addington Fund.

Farming Help was formed to publicise the support available to farming people experiencing difficulties.

Royal Agricultural Benevolent Institution

RABI provides financial and practical help to members of the farming community who are facing hardship.



The Addington Fund

The Addington Fund runs a Strategic Rural Housing Scheme for those leaving a rural business, to allow people to exit with dignity and to enable them to remain living in their community. Most of the charity's work is with farming families, in particular tenant farmers who leave farming and therefore lose their home. In times of particular crisis, the Fund may provide financial aid to help towards business costs.

Farm Crisis Network (FCN)

Farm Crisis Network (FCN) provides pastoral and practical support to farming people during periods of anxiety, stress and problems relating to both the farm household and the farm business. FCN has over 250 volunteers across the country and works closely with RABI and the Addington Fund.

Samaritans

Samaritans is a confidential emotional support service for anyone in the UK and Ireland. The service is available 24 hours a day for people who are experiencing feelings of distress or despair, including those which may lead to suicide.

NFU

NFU Mutual

Since the opening of the first office, NFU Mutual has grown from strength to strength. To this day we are still expanding.  We began insuring individuals and businesses outside of the farming industry in the 1980's.

NFYFC

IAgSA

EAGA Partnership

EAGA manage the Warm Front grant on behalf of DEFRA. This is a government funded scheme which provides grants to make homes warmer, healthier and more energy-efficient.

Association of Charity Officers

The Association is the national umbrella body for benevolent charities; that is, charities who provide aid and advice to individuals in need. Any charity helping individuals can join the Association.
