Regional Officer, West Midlands

The year is flying by, and it has certainly been busy! One minute I'm at the races, the next at CountryTastic and then at a string of dinners throughout the west midlands!

The Staffordshire committee worked extremely hard for their annual dinner, with guest speaker Adam Henson, and entertainment from Staffordshire Young Farmers. Warwickshire also held a successful dinner dance this spring with guest speaker, Lord Plumb.

One event that I was extremely proud to be part of was Ludlow Race Day. I was overwhelmed by the support for this fantastic fundraising occasion - from the race sponsors, national and local businesses, people who donated auction prizes, the amateur jockeys, the helpers and all those who turned up to support us. The Shropshire committee worked extremely hard, and it was very pleasing to see so many other coutnies supporting the day and RABI. Well done everyone for helping raise our total, which currently stands at £40,000.

All the committees are planning lots of events so watch out for cream teas and Sunday suppers in Shropshire, oompah bands in Staffordshire, fetes and cathedral services in Worcestershire, fun rides and metal detecting days in Warwickshire and a party night in Herefordshire. if any of you need more information, you know where I am!
