Just over 80 people sat down to a 5 course dinner at Gt. Chesterford community centre in April to taste wines matched wines to the meal.

These included a glass of sparkling wine, and samples of 6 other wines to go with the different courses.

Steve Filby of C2C wines, gave an excellent description of the wines together with some backgroundinformation about the grower and production method.

Once again this was a very enjoyable evening.

Morborne Lambing Day

Just how cold could it feel?? That's the question these hardy volunteers from Cambridgeshire were asking at the annual Lambing Day hosted by Nigel and Janet Rome's Farm near Morbourne.

Despite the arctic weather about 1,000 visitors braved the cold and were rewarded by three ewes giving birth much to the excitement of the younger visitors.

A big thank you to everyone involved particularly Nigel and Janet Rome and the Peterborough NFU branch with all their stewards .

The Cambridgeshire county committee would like to thank Massey Ferguson main agents Thurlow Nunn Standen of Littleport for donating the 'Little Red Tractor' which will be part of the Cambridgeshire Committee Summer Raffle. Parts Manager David Westrup was a little nervous about sitting on it saying he was more suited to the 'Big Red Tractors' (being well over 6ft.) in the background.

The Summer Raffle will be drawn at the East of England Autumn Show on Sunday 23rd October 2013.
