East of England Autumn Show

October 2009

The Cambridgeshire committee chose the East of England Autumn Show to draw their summer raffle.  With tickets sold at many events and shows across the county all year this has raised a good deal of money for RABI.

Many thanks to Arthur and Elizabeth Gee for their hard work with this all summer.

The East of England Autumn Show once again took part in Welly Week, with a welly wanging competition which was run by David and Pauline Morgan of the Beds & Cambs Rurual Support Group. With over 250 entries the winner was an impressive 43.8 metres.  The show dinner also had a welly theme, where guests were encouraged to pay to wear their wellies and were also 'fined' for not!

Many thanks to everyone at t the show for getting Welly Week off to a great start.

      

      

Arthur Gee Receives his Trustee Award

September 2009

Cambridgeshire chairman, Arthur Gee was presented with a Trustee Award at RABI's AGM in 2008.  At the time we did not have the full award which includes a bronze sheep.  Bob Forster attended the Cambridgeshire committee meeting in September to finally present Arthur with his sheep!

Gransden Show

September 2009

The 107th annual Gransden Show was another big success for the Cambridgeshire committee with lots of Christmas cards sold and tickets for the Summer Draw in demand.

The lovely weather drew in the crowds and a big thank you must go to the Gransden & District Agricultural Society for allowing us to attend for free and to the Beds & Cambs Rural Support Group for their help on the day.

Cambridgeshire YFC Show

May 2009

Thanks to the Cambridgeshire YFC Show at Wimpole Hall for their kind invitation to RABI.  The Cambridgeshire committee did excellent work selling raffle tickets and discounted Christmas cards.  The weather held which drew in the crowds.

Pymoor Show

September 2009

Arthur Gee, chairman of the Cambridgeshire committee attended a presentation by the Pymoor Show to receive a cheque for the sum of £2,000 towards the work of RABI. This followed a very successful show back in the summer, with record attendance.

May 2009

With good weather and a wide range of exhibitors the Pymoor Show was another success for RABI.  Many thanks must go to the show committee for their support over many years.

East of England Show

May 2009

The East of England Show again attracted large crowds over the three days and RABI was present in the Farming Trail marquee where we kept people informed of the work of RABI and got children interested in Welly Week.

Sentry Shoot Cheque Presentation

July 2009

At the Royal Norfolk Show RABI was presented with a cheque for £2259.25 from Sentry Farms.  Many thanks to Stephen Jacobs, Farm Business Advisor for Sentry and Garry Sallis, Nat West Agricultural Manager and of course everyone at Sentry for a wonderful day.
