Market Harborough NFU Dinner Dance

Market Harborough NFU branch held their annual dinner dance at Leicester Racecourse on the 29th January 2010.  They took this opportunity to present a cheque for £4380 to RABI committee members, Brian & Veronica Sutton. this was from the grain haul held during 2009 and raffle from the evening.

A big thank you must go to everyone involved for supporting our charity and for raising such a fantastic amount.

Market Harborough NFU

November 2009

Market Harborough NFU branch have been very busy this Winter collecting grain as part of their grain pledge to raise funds for RABI.

Members were asked to pledge an amount of grain that would be taken away, sold and the proceeds would be sent to RABI.

Pictured as the grain lorry arrives for loading at Rectory Farm, Great Easton, is Craig Langton (outgoing NFU branch chair) Tom Shepherd (NFU group secretary) Milly Wastie, Andrew Rees (current NFU chair) Abigail Johnson, Chloe Johnson and Fay Johnson ( who oversaw the grain pledges) . It is expected that the grain will raise in excess of £2,000.

Christmas Quiz

December 2009

Leicestershire beneficiary - Mrs Buckle organised the annual Glooston Village Christmas quiz to raise money for RABI. The village hall was packed with 20 teams entering.

Teams took part in 10 rounds of general knowledge questions, picture and music rounds followed by a supper and raffle.

The evening raised £750 so a big thank you must go to Mrs Buckle for all her hard work and to everyone else for attending and making it such an enjoyable event.

      

Rearsby YFC

Rearsby YFC were very pleased to present Milly Wastie with a cheque for £3435.47 from the sale of the Welly Calendars during the year. This sum will go towards the Welly Week campaign and is most welcome.  Thanks to everyone involved.

St Giles in the Field Harvest Festival

The Leicestershire committee once again organised a harvest festival service at St Giles in the Field Church, London on the 4th October. The service was very well attended and a huge thank you must go to Case IH for supplying a tractor which was parked outside the church.

Simon Packe-Drury-Lowe once again got the supper afterwards sponsored and this was well received.

      

Welly Week Mascot

Unofficial member of the RABI Leicestershire committee, Becky has decided to do her bit for Welly Week.

She is now our mascot for Welly Week across the country. Check out the pages on this site for more information about the events going on.

Ferret Racing

May 2009

On Saturday 9th May, 350 people packed into Fenn Lane Farm near Nuneaton to watch a night of ferret racing fun and to raise money for RABI which is nearing the £3,000 mark.

Amongst some of the keen race goers was England Rugby International star, Matthew Tait. The crowd were able to enjoy a sociable, family orientated evening with games, music and live ferret racing. Special thanks go to Alf and Jill Oliver for the use of their farm and to the committee for all their hard work.
