Kettering NFU

November 2009

Kettering NFU have been busy selling RABI calendars and also donated £500 from branch funds at their recent AGM. A big thank you must go to the members for all their help and especially Jill West and Peter Smith the group secretaries for the branch.

Pictured below is Milly collecting the cheque from Peter Smith at his office just outside Kettering. The branch will also be hosting a farmers ball on 5th February 2010 at Wickstead Park, Kettering where they will be raising money for RABI too!

Moulton College

October 2009

Moulton College took part in Welly Week with another tractor pull in wellies.  The students pulled a Massey Ferguson along the college road against the clock. Students were sponsored to take part in the event over 100 yards in teams of 8. The winning team were a group of lads from the year 2 mechaniastions course who won tape measures and calculators donated by Len Cross Fertilisers.

Many thanks to everyone for being so enthusiastic about Welly Week and supporting our campaign once again.

  

Sutton Bonnington College

October 2009

Sutton Bonnington College kicked off their Welly Week activities with a host of fundraising activities.  A group of students held a three legged pub crawl around Kegworth in fancy dress.

A huge thank you must go to everyone at the college for taking part in Welly Week with such enthusiasm.

Harvest Party

September 2009

The RABI Northants committee held a very successful harvest party at Lady Morton's home, Flore Fields on the 20th September. Around 100 people came along for drinks and canapes in a marquee on the lawn in gorgeous sunshine.

It is estimated that we may have raised over £1,000 although money is still coming in.

Food and drinks were sponsored  by Heygates and Fisher German, so a big thank you to them for their support and to all committee members for their hard work in making this such a good event.

      

Sir John Lowther

August 2009

RABI were very sorry to say good bye to Sir John Lowther who stood down as a member of the Northants committee after nearly 40 years support.  His father had also been an active supporter for the same amount of time.

RABI Deputy Chairman North, Bob Forster was very pleased to present Sir John with a long service award.
