The North and the South United in Support of RABI

December 2011

The RABI continues its major commitment in North Yorkshire paying out in excess of £ 145,000 supported members and former members of the farming community who have fallen on hard times. Michael Penrose of the Shield of David Conclave (No 196) of the Masonic Order visited North Yorkshire County Chairman, David Burke, and presented him with a cheque for £1,000 to support the work of the RABI in North Yorkshire.

The Freemans' Grand Charity nationally is a great supporter of the RABI in 2010 donating £50,000 to support the work of the charity. Todays donation shows that small local conclaves also carry out their charitable activites across the country.

 

Countryside Live, Harrogate

23 October 2011

The quad bike raffle which has been run at various shows across the north was drawn at the Countryside Live event. Bill Cowling, Honorary Show Director was on hand to pull out the winning ticket.

The raffle made over £3,000 and the quad bike was won by Tom Chilton of North Yorkshire.

A huge thank you must go to ATV World for donating the bike.

Askham Bryan College

October 2011

The Yorkshire Show Society organised a careers conference for new entrants into farming at Askham Bryan College.  Guest speaker was Adam Henson.

Harvest Dinner, Black Sheep Brewery

October 2011

75 guests attended a harvest dinner at the Black Sheep Brewery, Masham.  Brewery MD, Paul Theakston was the after dinner speaker. In attendance were Andrew and Joanna Loftus of Weeton's of Harrogate who have chosen RABI as their charity of the year.

  

Bedale Book Fair

Selby YFC

NIdderdale Show

The North Yorkshire committee attended the Nidderdale Show raising £274 for RABI from their quiz. Pictured below is last years winner, Mr Earnshaw with North Yorks Chairman, David Burke receiving his prize of a Betty's voucher.

Great Yorkshire Show

July 2011

As always the Great Yorkshire Show was a fabulous event for everyone and in particular RABI. It was the venue for the launch of the RABI Farming in Focus 2012 calendar on the NFU stand. Co-sponsors DHL were also on hand to help the launch.

  

Lady Morrison also gave her support to the 2012 calendar.

Other events taking place during the course of the show was a raffle to win a quad bike, generously donated by Polaris.

The retirement of Richard Ellison, NFU North East Regional Director was marked  with a small presentation.
