Bedale Book Fair

April 2013

This regular event has now moved venues to Bedale Town Hall, where it attracted even more visitors. A thank must go to David and Betty Burke for their hard work in putting this together especially as it regularly makes about £1,000.

Knaresborough YFC

April 2013

Regional manager, Sally Conner went along to visit Knaresborough YFC to talk about the work of our charity. Following a viewing of the new DVD they presented her with a cheque for £230 which they had raised from carol singing.

Singing Farmers Concerts

March 2013

This year saw the tenth anniversary of the Singing Farmers Concerts, all four venues were packed as they gave their usual wonderful performances full of stories, jokes and songs.

Ken's granddaughter brought the average age of the singers down by about 50 years, she gave a beautiful rendition of 'My heart will go on' from the film Titanic at the end of the concert, much to the delight of the audience.

We raised over £8,000 over the four concerts so many thanks to all who attended and of course the singers themselves. They did say that this would be the last year for the concerts, but do we really believe that.....

Tholthorpe Methodist Church

January 2013

North Yorkshire committee member, Len Abel was on hand to collect a cheque for £150 from Tholthorpe Methodist Church from their annual Plough Sunday Service.
