Georgina Lamb - Regional Officer, North West England

How quickly this year is flying by with celebrations taking place across the north west. I am particularly enjoying judging the YFC RABI themed competitions this year and have the pleasure of judging the Northern Area finals at Clitheroe Auction Mart in June. The standard is so high it makes my job very difficult as the creativity and imagination fo the young farmers never ceases to amaze me!

Variety is the spice of life across my region as we look forward to a fabulous luxury boat trip down the River Dee at Chester, an eagerly awaited Italian theme night (using British ingredients of course!) in Cumbria, cream tea and lawn games on Merseyside and brains tested at a quiz night in West Yorkshire. Any volunteers that would like to join me at shows across the counties are more than welcome and I would be delighted to have you come along. Show season brings an array of visitors and supporters old and new to our marquees, you can get some real old characters! Look out for my fabulous vintage tractors up for raffle this year.

Can I finish off by congratulating all the award winners at this years AGM, but in particular my wonderful committee members John Sephton from Lancs and Patricia Turnbull from Cumbria. Also to Carrs Milling Industries to whom we are all very grateful.
