RABI Birthday Party
February 2010
The eagerly awaited R.A.B.I birthday party was a treat indeed for all who attended. 130 party goers packed into Byley Village Hall for an evening of delicious homemade party food, fab entertainment and a game of pass the parcel to boot!
The Cheshire Committee worked tirelessly to create a marvelous evening which they should all be very proud of. I believe one member, who will remain nameless, pealed a carrot for the very first time in 77 years! Well done Albert!
Thirteen pass the parcels circulated the audience as the Handbag of Harmonies started and stopped singing accordingly. Thanks go to my sister Rachel who helped me wrap 64 layers of paper on the parcels! A superb birthday cake made by Dorothy Smallwood topped off the evening as we all sang happy birthday to RABI.
The evening raised £1,200 and was just fantastic!
Quiz Night
January 2010
There wasn’t a chance for the big freeze to affect the events in the North West this year which began by testing the brains of the Cheshire set!! Seven teams were quizzed by dairy farmer and committee member Phil Smallwood at what proved to be a very enjoyable evening.
The “Floaters” were triumphant which I just so happened to be a member of, alas though, I contributed very little!! The evening raised £300 and will hopefully become an annual event.
Thanks go to Phil, but can you make the questions a bit easier next time!!
Mapi Values
August 2009
Mapi Values, a Health Outcomes company part of the Adelphi Group of companies based in Bollington, Cheshire recently held a "Seasonal Summer Snacks" lunch in order to raise money for R.A.B.I as part of their green and community inititatives.
Members of staff brought in dishes using seasonal ingredients and served them up at lunch time to staff from their sister company. Dishes ranged from Cheshire potato salad to more exotic dishes such as Greek salad and Aloo Gobi. The lunch raised a total of £110.33"
Cheshire Show
June 2009
The Cheshire Show saw a wonderful display of British produce, which was the main focal point of the marquee. The sale of this at the end of the show raised over £450 for RABI. A visit to the stand by David Bellamy made it an excellent show. Many thanks to the Cheshire committee plus Jackie Clegg for helping out.

Peter Kendall showed his support of RABI and Welly Week by sporting a wrist band.
Plant Sale
July 2009
Many thanks must go to Cath Johnson for organising the very successful plant sale at Towerwood, Malpas recently. With mouth watering cakes, preserves, books, plants and many other items on sale the morning raised £587 for RABI.
Thank you to Cath and everyone else involved.
