Kings Moss Ploughing Match
February 2010
A Ploughing Day and Farmers Market was held at Fir Tree Farm, Kings Moss by kind permission of Edwina and Alan Abbott. A tidy sum was raised for RABI from collections in the car park.
Pictured below John Sephton, RABI Lancashire Chairmand and Edwina Abbott.
Clitheroe Swing Band
February 2010
Not to be outdone by Cheshire, Lancashire also had a musical entrance to 2010 with a swing band night. Pupils from Clitheroe Grammar School entertained an audience with a brilliant array of swinging tunes at Samlesbury Memorial Hall.
The only hiccup being our supper lost in the freezing fog for 20 minutes! Apple pies made by the wonderful ladies of the committee were, as ever a treat and made up for lost time.
The evening was a hit thanks to former Lancashire County secretary Stephen Fawcett. Stephen stood down from the committee this year but I would like to take this opportunity to thank him for many years of support. Lancashire now looks forward to their annual dinner dance, Myerscough College Open Day, Sunday Lunch and much more.

Farmhouse Breakfast
January 2010
Merseyside cooked up a treat for the first time ever as R.A.B.I trustee Lorna Tyson hosted a wonderful morning at her stunning guest house, Mere Brook on the Wirral.
Thirty guests enjoyed a hearty breakfast cooked to perfection and listened to the CEO of Wirral Borough Council and Head of Tourism discuss putting Wirral and more importantly, food on the map.
The morning raised over £450 which we were thrilled to receive. Many thanks go to Lorna and Donald for their hospitality – same time again next year???
Lancashire Songs of Praise
October 2009
Lancashire enjoyed what was described as their best Songs of Praise service yet at St John the Baptist Church at Burscough where over 100 people enjoyed hymns, prayers and poems in celebration of harvest time £480 was raised in the collection which was brilliant. Thanks to all those who helped make the evening such a success.
Lancashire Sunday lunch was very well attended with over £1000 banked for the county, well done to the committee for all those ticket sales!
Myerscough Open Day
July 2009
The Myerscough Open Day once again attracted a large audience particularly for the sheep show.
The RABI stand was supported by Warburton Bread with loaves being supplied from their Burnley depot. Many thanks to everyone involved for making it such a good day.

Port Sunlight Festival
July 2009
Welly Mania came early and took Merseyside by storm as we enjoyed an afternoon of welly wanging at the Port sunlight Festival on the Wirral. Streams of wangers of all ages queued beside the main arena to trying their hand with wellies to win welly shaped money boxes and our wanger of the day was Verity Saunders aged 17 from Bromborough. The afternoon rasied over £100 which was fantastic.
