West Country Seminar

October 2011

A half day seminar to raise awareness of the Farming Help group of charities was organised by RABI regional officer Philippa Spackman at the Royal Cornwall Showground in Wadebridge.

The seminar, which attracted 45 delegates, was aimed at those whose work brings them into contact with farming families in the hope that they will encourage more people to seek help, should they be in need. In addition to speakers from each of the charities, RABI, Farm Crisis Network and the Addington Fund, there were NFU representatives, bank managers, accountants, animal health and health and safety inspectors present, as well as delegates from other charities and churches.

Philippa Spackman said: "The event went really well and provided a valuable opportunity for people to get together to talk about issues that affect the farming families they meet."
