News from KentHarvest SupperOctober 2008 Once again the Kent committee held a very successful Harvest Supper at Amos Hall, Ashford in support or RABI. A big thank you to everyone who attended and for supporting our charity and to David and the committee for their hard work.
East Kent Ploughing MatchSeptember 2008 The East Kent Ploughing Match was a very successful day with gorgeous sunshine just for a change! A big thank you must go to Angela Hurst for supporting RABI by providing a hamper and whiskey for the raffle. Despite the sunshine people's thoughts are starting to turn to Christmas and we sold lots of cards. A thank you must also go to David Brummell for helping me out on the day.
Kent Barbecue18 May 2008 The Kent committee held their annual Hog Roast, with Nature trail and Fly fishing at Goddington Lake, Harrietsham by kind permission of Mr & Mrs D Chantler on Sunday 18th May 2008. Another very successful event for Kent with 120 people attending raising £2500 for RABI.
Kent NFU Centenary Garden Party23 May 2008 The Kent NFU Centenary Garden Party was held on Friday 23rd May at Godinton House near Ashford. With over 280 people in attendance the event raised £647 for RABI. A big thank you to Chris Older and Charles Tassel for making it such a success.
Clay Shoot24 May 2008 Rochester NFU and the Kent committee organised a Clay Shoot on Saturday 24th May. This event has been running for 38 years but this is only the second time that RABI has been included. With 12 teams entered; 8 NFU branch teams and 4 open teams plus 3 singles the day raised £470 for RABI. The County Trophy was won by the Rochester Branch and the high gun by James Attwood who shot 56 of his 60 birds. Many thanks to Clive Wenham and David Chantler for organising the event.
Farmhouse Breakfast EventsJanuary 2008 The Kent committee organised a number of Farmhouse Breakfast events across the county raising a substantial amount of money for RABI. Many thanks to everyone involved in making these breakfasts such a success.
