John Jospeh Mechi Garden wins bronze at Chelsea
We are delighted that the first ever RABI garden at the Chelsea Flower Show has won a bronze medal. Credit for the success must go to designer, Ben Wincott of Writtle College who, with his team of students, worked tirelessly in extreme conditions to bring together a garden that has attracted considerable interest and praise from show goers.

The strawberries and Champagne theme, celebrating RABI's 150th anniversary and 125 years of jam production at Tiptree by the garden's sponsors, Wilkin & Sons, was highlighted when RABI President, Lord Plumb, joined John Jospeh Mechi look-a-like, Tim Came from Tiptree and award winning young farmer Anna Simpson to toast the occasion in the garden.

The garden also attracted considerable media attention with visits from several BBC television crews and personalities as well as radio interviews by BBC Essex and BBC Oxford.

More details of the development of the garden can be seen at www.writtlecollege.ac.uk.
