Fundraising
Why do we need to fundraise?
It costs RABI approximately £1,300 per person each year for every long-term beneficiary. We are currently looking after 1,500. Once someone is accepted as a long-term beneficiary the commitment is for the remainder of their lifetime as long as their need exists. This does not include the one-off payments for special items, and urgent financial assistance which was £2.44 million in 2008.
RABI is self funded, which shows why it is so important to raise as much money as possible. In 2008 our county committees raised over £1m from a wide variety of events ranging from grand Gala Dinners for several hundred guests to mouse racing evenings for just a few. Whatever the occasion and however much is raised; the support of our volunteers is invaluable.
You can help us in many ways so contact your nearest Regional Officer or Head Office for further information.
